Gas Flooding Research Project

PennPVT

PennPVT is an excel toolkit to calculate minimum miscibility pressure (MMP). It uses both method of characterstics and mixing cell method developed by this research group.

Li-Johns Constant-K Flash

The Li-Johns method replaces Rachford-Rice in flash calculations.
It is faster and more robust than Rachford-Rice method and is used in minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) calcualtion.

MMP Calculation Using Correlation

This tool estimates MMP between oil and CO2 given a few input parameters.
The procedure is based on the following paper:
Yuan, H., Johns, R., Egwuenu, A. and Dindoruk, B., 2005. Improved MMP Correlations for CO2 Floods Using Analytical Gasflooding Theory. SPE Reservoir Evaluation & Engineering, 8(5). doi: 10.2118/89359-PA.

Compositional Gas Flooding Simulator

This group has updated UTComp to include advanced flash and stability routines. UTComp was originally developed at the
University of Texas at Austin. This version of UTComp is only available for our JIP members through Dr. Sepehrnoori who is part of this JIP. Dr. Sepehrnoori can be reached at kamys@mail.utexas.edu or by phone at (512) 471 -0271. This code is not to be given to third parties.
