Penn State’s Campus Sustainability Office, part of the Office of Physical Plant, is seeking a writing intern for this summer who will provide assistance in writing for their website, future newsletter, and other communication venues as needed. The applicant must have demonstrated ability to research a variety of topics related to energy and the environment, good interview techniques and clear writing skills. Some familiarity with Dreamweaver software will be helpful. This paid internship will be for 10 to 20 hours per week, depending on the applicant’s availability. The intern will collect and evaluate data on building and transportation energy use. The applicant must have demonstrated ability to work with Excel spread sheets, and have an understanding of technical terms related to energy (e.g. kWh). The applicant must also have proven effectiveness at translating data into a form for public education. Penn State’s Campus Sustainability Office, part of the Office of Physical Plant, is seeking a graphics intern for next year who will provide design assistance for our website, newsletter, posters, pamphlets and other communication pieces. The intern should have skills using a digital single reflex camera, creating newsletters and posters using the full spectrum of the Adobe CS 2 software package, and show proficiency working with websites using Dreamweaver software. The paid internship will be ten hours per week from August 2010 until May 2010. Our offices are in the Land and Water Research Building, near the Indoor Track.
