The Peter T. Luckie Undergraduate Research Award was started im 2008 in honor of Peter Luckie, Professor Emeritus in Mineral Processing who served as Chapter President for 10 years and is presented each year to top Juniors at the Undergraduate Research Exhibit. The exhibit took place on April 11th at University Park. This year 28 Juniors competed in engineering, life science, physical science and the social and behavioral sciences. This years winners are as follows:

Award in Social and Behavioral Sciences

  • 1st Place ($250)
    Alexander Kinney (Sociology, Altoona Campus)
    Title: "Black Studies and Social Movements"

Award in Engineering and Physical and Life Sciences

  • 1st Place ($250)
    Pralav Shetty (Mechanical Engineering, UP) , Danhao Ma (Energy Engineering, Altoona), and Dustin Hess (Physics, UP)
    Title: Polarized magnetic induced broadening of plasmon-photonics in Fe3O4-siliccon elastomer composite films
