Letters to students nominated to Phi Kappa Phi this year were sent out in December 2012 just prior to semester break. Letters are sent to the student's permanent address. Students can accept their nomination on line following instructions in their nomination letter or the chapter website.
This year's Initiation Ceremony will take place on March 24th, Sunday, 2013 at 1:00PM at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.
Noon Registration - all attendees must register at Registration Desk #1 at the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel
1:00 PM Ceremony Begins with guest speaker Dr. Edgar Farmer
2:00 PM Lunch Banquet
The Penn State Chapter is actively recruiting Student Vice Presidents to represent each college at Penn State. Our current Student Vice Presidents of the Penn State Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi are Rodney Hughes (PhD student in Higher Education) and Bridget Doughtery (Undergraduate student in Energy, Business and Finance). Cutoff date for accepting your nomination is April 7th, 2013 or March 3rd, 2013 if you plan on attending the Initiation Ceremony on March 24th, 2013.
Dress is semi-formal in keeping with the prestige of the occasion and acknowledging the accomplishments of the initiates. Acceptable men's wear would be: shirt and tie, with or without a suit or sport jacket or a suit. Acceptable women's wear would be a suit (pants or skirt), dress pants or a skirt and a nice top or jacket or a semi-formal dress. April 7, 2013 - date online registration is closed for chapter.
Phi Kappa Phi recognition items (stole, honor cord and medallion) are on sale at the national website, however, it is the policy of Pennsylvania State University that "ornamentation representing honorary societies or nationalities is not approved attire for Penn State commencement ceremonies."
